Most imaging needs a booking — call the clinic first. Bring your referral either way.

Going somewhere else? That works too.

Any accredited lab accepts your referral — just email support@nextclinic.com.au to tell us where you went, so we can get your results back. Some labs also upload to My Health Record automatically; confirm with them on the day.

What happens when my results come back?

They hit your portal first

The moment a lab sends results, we upload them to your NextClinic portal — you see them as soon as we do.

Your doctor reviews your result

The doctor who referred you reviews everything that comes back — not just the flagged ones.

Follow-up, if it's needed

If something's worth talking through, your doctor recommends a follow-up consult.

You get a notification, either way

You'll know when results arrive, and if a follow-up is recommended — no news isn't left as silence.

It's been a while — where are they?

Most routine pathology is back within 1–3 business days — specialised tests and imaging can take longer. If it's been a while, email us and we'll chase the lab for you. But know that turnaround is set by the lab, not by us.

Most routine pathology results are back within 1–3 business days. Some specialised tests take a bit longer, and imaging turnaround varies by clinic. If it's been longer than that, email support@nextclinic.com.au and we'll chase the lab.

That works too. Email support@nextclinic.com.au with the lab you visited and when, so we can help get your results back. Some labs also upload results to My Health Record.

You can set one up through myGov. It is free, and the Australian Government provides instructions for linking My Health Record to your account.

Yes, when you visit one of the integrated radiology providers listed above. If you use another clinic, email us if the report does not appear and we’ll help track it down.

Yes. You can book a follow-up consult whenever you want a doctor to talk through your results, even if we have not contacted you first.
