No reason to feel weird about it.
People book an STD test for all sorts of reasons. None of them are anyone else's business.
- You’ve had a new partner and want peace of mind.
- You’ve noticed symptoms you’d rather not ignore.
- A partner has asked you to test, or has tested positive.
- It’s been a while and you’re due for a check.
- You’d rather not sit in a GP waiting room to ask for this.
Whatever it is, the doctor's seen it before.

FAQs
The questions people quietly want answered.
How long does it take to receive my results?+
It depends on the lab. Most routine STD pathology results come back within a few business days. The lab you visit will be able to give you a clearer timeframe on the day.
How do I get my results?+
How results reach you depends on the lab you choose. We’ve written it all up on our pathology and radiology results page — what to expect, where to look, and what to do if something is delayed. See how results reach you →
How much does it cost?+
$49.90 for the consultation and referral. If anything else comes up during the consult — questions, prescriptions, advice — that’s included too. No approval, no charge.
Is this legitimate?+
Yes. Our doctors are AHPRA-registered and licensed to practise across Australia. The pathology referral you receive is the same kind of referral a GP would write — accepted by any pathology lab in the country.
What if I don’t receive my result?+
If your result hasn’t come through and it’s been longer than expected, email us at support@nextclinic.com.au and we’ll help you track it down.
Do I have to talk to a doctor?+
A doctor reviews every request, and will call you if they need to ask a few questions before issuing your referral. It’s short, private, and on the phone — no video, no waiting room.
Sort it today, not next week.
